Bryan Hulbert – TULSA, Okla. (June 16, 2021) Gearing up for a double-duty weekend in Oklahoma and Kansas this weekend, the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region presented by Smiley’s Racing Products will debut at the new Tulsa Speedway grand opening on Friday, June 18, then make the tour’s only trip of the year to 81-Speedway in Park City, Kan. on Saturday, June 19.

Absent from Tulsa since the closure of the old Tulsa Speedway off Hwy. 75 in 2005, the final ASCS event was held on August 27, with Tulsa’s Nick Smith earning the win. Shifting competition 13 minutes to the east, the new Tulsa Speedway sits adjacent to Tulsa Raceway Park. Teams will get a chance to test and tune the new quarter-mile oval on Thursday night from 5:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. (CDT).

Friday, June 18, opens at 5:00 P.M. with racing at 7:45 P.M. (CDT). Tickets are $15 for adults and free for Kids 12 and under. Pits are $35. The night’s lineup includes B-Mods and Factory Stocks. Tulsa Speedway is located at 3101 N Garnett Rd. in Tulsa, Okla. Information on the track is online at http://www.tulsaspeedway.com.

Shifting focus to 81-Speedway, the ASCS Sooner Region’s last visit to the three-eighths-mile oval was on July 11, 2020, with eight-time track champion, Jeremy Campbell, roaring through the field from 11th for the win. Going into this weekend’s event, the Wichita driver is third in tour standings, trailing Ryan Timms and Brandon Anderson.

Saturday, June 19, opens at 5:00 P.M. with racing at 7:00 P.M. (CDT). Admission is $15 for adults, $12 for Senior and Military, and free for Kids 10 and under. Pits are $30. Saturday’s card also calls for URSS Sprint Series, HeyGlassman.com Stock Cars, and Two M Motorsports & Machine Rookie Modifieds to be in action. The Park City, Kan. oval is located at 7700 N. Broadway. Information, directions, and more are online at https://www.81speedway.com.

The 2021 season marks the 30th year of competition for the American Sprint Car Series. Spearheaded by the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network, the ASCS Nation also includes 11 Regional Tours that encompass both wing and non-wing competition.
